Design of modular machining fixtures for milling

Abstract

A fixture is an essential tooling to fix the part at the good position in the workspace of the machine tool. The preceding works allowed to establishing a model for fixturing part and take into account the constraints of fixturing part in the process planning. In this work of thesis we are dealing with the fixture design so as to pass from the retained fixturing part model to the technological solution which will be used on the workstation. This work addresses the problem of modular fixture design from the technological point of view, that is to say the selection and placement of the technological elements taking into account all constraints of quality, accessibility and mechanical behaviour of system of part-fixture-cutting tool during machining.
