Operational Research

The research of GROG team focuses both on theoretical work related to Operational Research (OR) tools and models and on applied issues in partnership with companies, local authorities, local associations, and research organizations. GROG team’s work is structured around three thematic areas: (1) industrial systems (in transition or traditional), (2) territorial and community issues, and (3) OR and decision support tools.

The team conducts research into industrial systems, mainly through CIFRE Ph.D theses, in connection with palletizing, lean manufacturing, and scheduling. It also studies territorial issues such as agricultural logistics, material flows, and home healthcare. In urban logistics, work focuses on shared vehicles, waste collection, and multimodal itineraries. Energy is another major area, with studies on electric bus charging and energy systems. All of this research integrates sustainable development issues by reconciling social, environmental, and economic performance. ongoing
