Green ENgineering dESIgn
Project objectives
Develop a methodology and a software platform to support eco-design of industrial products.
- Solutions for a better integration of eco-design and life cycle thinking in companies
- Solutions for reducing environmental impacts of mechatronic products
- Integration of environmental data and expertise in traditional design tools (CAD and PLM systems)
Project Leaders: Peggy ZWOLINSKI, Maud DUFRENE, Emmanuelle COR
Duration: 02.2012 - 01.2015
Partnerships:
The G.EN.ESI project is co-financed by the European Commission and made possible within the VII Framework Programme FP7-NMP-201 l-SMALL-5 - Grant Agreement Number 280371
Methods
- State of the art of ecodesign methods, tools, and standards
- Identification of key elements and steps for the methodology
- Definition of the structure of the support platform
- Software development of the platform
- Tests and feedbacks on the implementation of the methodology and the platform in company
Results
The G.EN.ESI project developed:
- A methodology in 6 steps supporting the integration of environmental design activities and management within existing design and engineering departments.
- A software platform which provides streamlined environmental assessment and support eco-design decision
The Tools and Data Management Provided
